Course Description

An overview of accepted multicultural awareness and comportment in the clinical setting in addressing the shared beliefs, traditions, customs, and folklore of established cultures (Core Functions: Assessment, Treatment Planning, Counseling, Consultation with Other Professionals)

Learning Objectives

1. Become aware of established populations of people other than those more-commonly engaged day-to-day. 

2. Develop cultural sensitivity in acknowledging differences without assigning value judgments.

3. Become culturally competent in work with multiple cohorts of addictive-disorder patients.
