Course Description

An introduction to the theory of effective therapeutic engagement behaviors for individuals from varying cultural backgrounds. (Core Functions: Counseling)

Learning Objectives

1. Become aware of established populations of people other than those more-commonly engaged day-to-day. 

2. Develop cultural sensitivity in acknowledging differences without assigning value judgments.

3. Become culturally competent in work with multiple cohorts of addictive-disorder patients.
