Learning Objectives
1. Gain basic understanding of the drugs of abuse and their impact on brain centers implicated in mood disorders.
2. Describe typical presentation of substance-related and addictive disorders and other major psychiatric illnesses.
3. Understand modes and sites of action of the major drugs of abuse.
4. Learn many current psychopharmaceuticals used in treating reward activation problems (addiction) and coexisting mood disorders.
5. Acquire greater understanding, sophistication and confidence in working on psychiatric multidisciplinary treatment teams.
