Course Description

An introduction to the often-encountered comorbidity of addictive and mood disorders with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder and a review of theory and practice of effective therapeutic engagement for those affected by gambling disorder complicated by additional psychiatric co-presenting disorders. (Screening, Intake, Orientation, Assessment, Treatment Planning, Counseling, Patient Education, Referral, Consultation with Other Professionals)

1. Manifest a more complete understanding of the nature of addictive disorders (emphasizing DSM-5 gambling disorder) and how they are created in the brain.
