Course Description

An introduction to the practice of motivational enhancement therapy (MET) in addictions counseling (Core Function: Counseling)

Learning Objectives

1. Acquire knowledge of the basic principles governing MET as currently practiced.

2. Perform a comparative attitudinal self-analysis of MET principles as differentiated from adversarial and confrontive counseling approaches.

3. Gain experience in applying MET principles.
