Course Description
An overview of effective attitudes and interventions in guiding family systems affected by substance-related and addictive disorders in one or more family members (Core Function: Patient education)
Learning Objectives 1. Develop respectful and collaborative relationships when working with individuals,
children, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic classes.
2. Use family therapy and counseling theories to conceptualize patient situations and create appropriate treatment plans addressing diverse patient needs.
3. Provide evidence-based therapy interventions for individuals, children, couples, families, and groups struggling with the effects of addiction and relationship issues.
4. Implement best-practice strategies with diverse patients and issues.
