CADA SABH is licensed to provide continuing education hours to counselors in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas!

THE CADA SCHOOL IS A VITAL PART of the recovery community.

CADA’s School of Addiction and Behavioral Health strives to help fulfill CADA’s larger mission to “educate, counsel, and treat” those suffering from various addictions. We work hard to educate about addiction. Our School Director offers classes, online and in-person, that cover topics from Counselor/Client Relationships to Diagnosing Addictive Disorders, Autism and Mental Health Disorders to courses on Designer Drugs.

Our desire is for more people to understand the disease of addiction and that those in the counseling world could count on CADA for the most up-to-date and relevant courses about topics that matter in our world today.

Offering continuing education and community outreach to addiction and other mental health professionals and to interested members of the community, CADA’s Addictions Training Institute was established in 1990. It became the School of Addiction and Behavioral Health in 2012. Our trainings are open to addiction professionals or any persons interested in learning more about addiction.

A Note from our Director, Dr. Kent Dean

In compliance with the current mandates relative to state-licensed healthcare agencies in the current COVID-19 situation, our School is transferring its offerings to online formats: podcasts, live and recorded webinars, and correspondence training. New training is being added all the time, so please see our current online and correspondence courses at the separate tabs. All in-person training is deferred for the duration of the LDH mandate. Many of these courses will appear as live (synchronous) virtual events via Zoom®. Please monitor this site for updates on the format of our synchronous events for 2022.

The Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners (LABSWE) and the Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners have waived the live event requirement, making approved distance learning acceptable for 100% of continuing education contact hours. The Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority (ADRA) and Arkansas Board of Examiners for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors make no distinction, and the Texas Certification Board (TCB) offers approval for live (synchronous) online training. We are now an Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP #6983) of the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) for online (asynchronous) training for LPCs and for live events, including live (synchronous) webinars. In any event, by ordering any course, you acknowledge that CADA, the School of Addiction and Behavioral Health, and the approval boards identified herein bear no responsibility for the ultimate credentialing acceptability or utility of any of our onsite or online materials for your specific training needs.

Disability Accommodations: Please contact us by email or phone should you require any special accommodations. Our School will do its best to meet your needs.

Please check back frequently at this site for updates on our ongoing continuing education. For additional information or questions, please email me at kent.dean@cadanwla.org or call (318) 564-5987.

Thank you for your support in accessing our trainings, and stay safe!

Best regards,

Kent
